(Image: Hovmand)

Vertical repositioning at the touch of a button

This is particularly tedious Handling the film rolls. Up to six times per shift, the employees have to replace used film rolls with new ones. To do this, the new roll has to be lifted to a height of 1.20 metres. A roll is 70 centimetres wide, has a diameter of 36 centimetres and weighs around 70 kilograms.

Although Witt had already used supporting Roller manipulators from other manufacturers. However, these only lifted the castors to the required height. The transfer from the vertical to the horizontal position still had to be carried out using muscle power. This meant a considerable workload for the employees responsible.

In order to optimise this work step, dispatch group manager Martin Meinerz decided to purchase several Inox 200 H3„ lifts from Hovmand in an electronic version. „With the Inox 200 lifts, we can not only place and lift the rolls in the right position, but also turn them horizontally at the touch of a button,“ he says, describing the advantages of the product, which he also describes as more manoeuvrable than the previously used solution.

At Witt Weiden, a mobile, battery-powered „Inox 200 H3“ lift facilitates the replacement of film rolls at a height of 120 centimetres.
