Products from the packaging company from Fulda were honoured with three awards during the trade fair in Nuremberg at the end of September 2018. The \u201ee@Box\u201c e-commerce shipping packaging received the German Packaging Award in the \u201eFunctionality and Convenience\u201c category. The corrugated cardboard innovation prize, awarded by the Association of the Corrugated Cardboard Industry, was honoured twice with gold. A shipping box for a US watch manufacturer and a promotional display for barbecue products from the traditional Esslingen-based brand Hengstenberg were honoured.<\/p>\n<p>The prototype \u201e<strong>e@Box<\/strong>\u201c was created by <strong>DS Smith<\/strong> optimised for the needs of e-commerce, especially for the increasing number of individual orders. It combines the functionalities of <strong>Primary and secondary packaging<\/strong>. The concept is designed as box-in-box packaging. When folded, the product and transport packaging are still firmly connected. When erected, they separate and can be filled from the side or from above. It becomes visible when the outer packaging is separated by an outline. <strong>Tear strip<\/strong> opened and the two <strong>Box halves<\/strong> be pushed apart. The packaging is also prepared for any returns. Especially for the various <strong>Watch and jewellery collections<\/strong> Fossil needed an efficient and variable shipping box concept. DS Smith developed an outwardly neutral shipping box that can be quickly erected, loaded and closed.<\/p>\n<p>What's special about the packaging. All products can be shipped in just one size.\u00a0<strong>Variable inlays<\/strong> fix the various goods in the packaging without filling materials. The packaging is opened either by tearing open a <strong>Self-adhesive tape<\/strong> or one <strong>Tear-off perforation<\/strong>. (Image: DS Smith)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Lightweight display for 96 mustard and sauce jars<\/h2>\n<p>With the <strong>Corrugated board innovation award<\/strong> a <strong>Advertising display<\/strong> for the food company <strong>Hengstenberg<\/strong>. For the presentation of the Hengstenberg<strong>Barbecue products<\/strong> DS Smith has developed a five-part display construction for use at the point of sale. It is easy to put together. The display is stable enough to hold a total of <strong>Sauce and mustard jars of 250 millilitres each<\/strong> to carry. The components were designed in such a way that the Hengstenberg products are presented together with the trays.
