The „Food-Safe Flexible Packaging Printing Solution“ was developed for the TrojanLabel speciality printers. This makes it possible to digitally print on flexible packaging in a heat-seal-proof and food-safe manner.

According to AstroNova President and CEO Greg Woods, the new technology offers his company good growth prospects in the food market and beyond. The new digital solution was developed specifically for the TrojanLabel-product line for small-format prints in standalone applications, but also within packaging lines. With its combination of special inks and finishing, it can be used for Sealing foil printing at low temperatures in vertical and horizontal flow-wrapping machines.

Digital printing technology enables On-demand printing for small and medium batch sizes. Barcodes can be printed as well as changing data for exact product identification. The print resolution is 1600 dpi.

Internal sealing films protect food

The ultra-thin, glossy white PET film was specially developed so that the water-based AstroNova inks adhere optimally to it.
