G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller, Managing Director of Baum\u00fcller Holding, passed away at the beginning of October after a short, serious illness at the age of 77.<\/p>\n

G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller was actively involved in the company's activities as a member of the advisory board until the end and was involved in numerous committees and trade associations on a voluntary basis. Under his leadership, Baum\u00fcller developed from a local company into a globally active, independent group of companies. Today, Baum\u00fcller employs over 1800 people. The company is headquartered in Nuremberg.<\/p>\n

G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller was born in Nuremberg in 1940. In 1973, he took over his parents' company and developed it into a leading Supplier of electrical automation and drive systems<\/strong> from. Intelligent system solutions for mechanical engineering and e-mobility are developed at six production sites and over forty branches worldwide.<\/p>

His children Karin Baum\u00fcller-S\u00f6der and Andreas Baum\u00fcller have been active as shareholders in the management of the group of companies for many years. Andreas Baum\u00fcller has been responsible for the entire Baum\u00fcller Group as Managing Partner and CEO since 2009. Years ago, G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller handed over overall responsibility to his son and thus actively acted as an advisor on the Advisory Board. Together with his sister, Karin Baum\u00fcller-S\u00f6der<\/strong>, sets Andreas Baum\u00fcller<\/strong> The active management and further development of Baum\u00fcller continues.<\/p>\n

Voluntary commitment<\/h2>\n

In addition to his professional activities, he was also involved in voluntary work. G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller was a long-standing board member of the German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers' Association (ZVEI). He was also awarded the ZVEI's golden badge of honour there. He was Vice President of the Nuremberg Chamber of Industry and Commerce for Middle Franconia. G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller helped to establish the mechatronics degree programme at the Friedrich-Alexander University of Erlangen-Nuremberg, as well as the Mechatronics Study and Diploma Prize for particularly outstanding graduates. G\u00fcnter Baum\u00fcller was an honorary senator at Nuremberg Institute of Technology.
