Fruit juice producer Eckes-Granini Germany is continuing its collaboration with pooling provider Chep and extending an expiring three-year contract for a further five years. The company uses the CHEP Euro and half pallets as well as the CHEP quarter pallets to present its products in retail outlets and ensure eye-catching promotions.<\/p>\n

Sustainable and profitable partnership<\/h2>\n

An important reason for Eckes-Granini Germany to extend its cooperation with Chep was the environmental aspect. The Pallet exchange based on the pooling principle<\/strong> is more environmentally friendly, more efficient and more profitable than the conventional exchange process. With pooling, pallets are carefully inspected after each delivery cycle and repaired if necessary. Thanks to their consistently high quality, the pallets remain in circulation for longer, which reduces CO2<\/sub>-emissions and waste. In addition, all the wood used for CHEP pallets is 100 per cent FSC\/PEFC-certified and comes from sustainably managed forests. CHEP pallets are fully recycled once they have been decommissioned. Eckes-Granini Germany also benefits from the logistics expert's efficient and dense network. The short distances between manufacturers, retailers and the CHEP service centres reduce the number of empty runs and thus further reduce CO2<\/sub>-output.<\/p>

By using several hundred thousand CHEP pallets on a pooling basis, Eckes-Granini Germany can potentially save up to 56 per cent CO2<\/sub>, 72 per cent of wood and a full 77 per cent of waste in landfill sites. It was not only in terms of sustainability that Chep was able to convince the fruit juice producer: \u201eWe not only benefit from the consistently high quality of the load carriers.
