This was determined by the Society for Packaging Market Research (gvm). On this occasion, Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH would like to emphasise the advantages of tinplate as a packaging material.<\/p>\n<p>According to gvm figures, tinplate is the best recycled packaging material. The circular economy for tinplate works well, writes <strong>Thyssenkrupp Rasselstein<\/strong>. Used steel packaging is collected, sorted, processed and recycled as quality scrap by the dual systems. Every steelworks uses a certain amount of steel scrap in the production of crude steel.<\/p>\n<p>Thyssenkrupp-Rasselstein CEO Dr Peter Biele sets <strong>Tinplate packaging<\/strong> in relation to plastic packaging: \u201eMillions of tonnes of <strong>Plastic waste<\/strong> are already floating in the world's oceans and becoming part of our food chains. To this end, the \u201e<strong>DWR - German Society for Tinplate Recycling<\/strong> mbH\u201c was founded. The company is also involved in <strong>Non-profit organisation<\/strong> \u201eKreislaufsystem Blechverpackungen Stahl GmbH\u201c (KBS).<\/p>\n<p>Despite the already good <strong>Recycling rate<\/strong> tinplate packaging can be recycled even better, emphasises Andreas Knein, Managing Director of DWR: \u201eIn order to further increase the recycling rate achieved in 2017, the cans that still end up in the waste incineration system as misfits in the grey bin should also be included in the dual collection systems.\u201c To achieve this, retailers and consumers need to be better informed about the good recycling options for tinplate packaging.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"91 per cent of tinplate packaging was recycled in Germany in 2017.
