The sustainability performance management platform recognises the performance of the load carrier pool operator in the areas of environment, working conditions, fair business practices and supply chain.<\/p>\n<p>One is the only <strong>Supply chain companies<\/strong>, which has achieved the gold status of <strong>EcoVadis<\/strong> CHEP is proud to have received the award for the fourth time in a row. The successes in the \u201e<strong>Corporate Social Responsibility<\/strong>\u201c (CSR) from <strong>CHEP<\/strong> based on international CSR standards, including the guidelines of the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI), the principles of the United Nations Global Compact and the ISO 26000 standard. EcoVadis took 190 purchasing categories and 150 countries into account in its assessment and evaluated 35,000 suppliers from 99 countries and 150 sectors.<\/p>\n<p>Juan Jos\u00e9 Freijo, Global Head of Sustainability at CHEP's parent company <strong>Brambles<\/strong>, comments on the certification: \u201eWe are delighted to receive this further recognition for our commitment to corporate social responsibility. CHEP does more than any other company in the world to help move more goods to more people in more places.\u201c Brambles has its <strong>Sustainability goals<\/strong> for 2020 is closely aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. According to CHEP, the reusable load carriers help to avoid waste in the supply chain. 99.4 per cent of the raw materials used to produce CHEP pallets come from certified sources worldwide and 100 per cent in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. According to Brambles, the repair and reuse of load carriers saved 1.7 million trees from deforestation in the last financial year. In total, 2.6 million tonnes of CO<sub>2<\/sub>-emissions and 1.4 million tonnes of waste.<\/p>\n<p>In addition to its ecological endeavours, CHEP also supports the social commitment of its employees. An extensive <strong>Volunteer programme<\/strong> gives employees three days off per year, which they can dedicate to voluntary work. In Germany, the employees have been involved in such diverse associations and institutions as the Cologne food bank, the Meschenich children's and youth centre and the homeless charity \u201eFriends of Cologne's streets and their residents\u201c.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"CHEP has been awarded \u201eGold Status\u201c by EcoVadis for the fourth time in a row.
