According to the trend assessment presented by the IK, the amount of packaging produced is expected to increase by two per cent.<\/p>\n<p>For your <strong>Trend assessment<\/strong> IK has commissioned the Mainz-based GVM Gesellschaft f\u00fcr Verpackungsmarktforschung mbH with a <strong>Industry survey<\/strong> and also analysed existing statistical data. According to IK economic expert Inga Kelkenberg, the better-than-expected result is due to the generally favourable economic climate. <strong>favourable economic situation<\/strong> in Germany. Last year, the industry association was already pleased with the good sales figures of its member companies. \u201e<strong>Plastic packaging<\/strong> are in demand on the market and continue to displace other materials due to their numerous special advantages,\u201c summarises Kelkenberg.<\/p>\n<p>IK expects a significant increase in sales in almost all product areas. A slight decline is only expected for bags, carrier bags and sacks. This is due to the slump in sales for <strong>Plastic carrier bags<\/strong>. The association criticises the persistently high <strong>Electricity costs<\/strong>. These are a particular burden for small and medium-sized plastic packaging manufacturers.
