(Image: Bosch Packaging Technology)

The discharge belt in balcony design is one of the key innovations of the Pack 403: it is removable and therefore extremely easy to clean. Thanks to a detection function, the belt automatically rejects faulty products using compressed air. An easily adjustable Swivel arm on Foil fixture module and the consecutively numbered film roll holders are designed to make threading the film easier. An automatic film splicer has been integrated so that film can be changed without stopping the machine.

Sealing edge unit is removed without tools

Greater efficiency and better handling of the films are intended to Power feed roller feed with servo drive. This was not yet available in the predecessor machine. The new Sealing edge unit in turn consists of pressure-controlled lamellar wheels that allow the machine to be easily adapted to different film formats. The Cross sealing unit in turn has a narrow cutting head. This can be opened manually using the handwheel to clean it.

„The sealing edge unit on the Pack 403 can be removed without tools. In addition, system operators have unrestricted access to the cutting head area for cleaning and maintenance, which increases overall system efficiency.“
Fransien de Ruijter, Product Manager at Bosch Packaging Technology in Schiedam, Netherlands

The Pack 403 is available with both air and Fork side folding devices available. In a final step, the mechanically operated top roller on the discharge conveyor compacts the seals on the packaging.

Presentation from ProPak Asia and FachPack Nuremberg

The new machine was developed with the Asian market in particular in mind, explains Bosch Packaging Technology. The biscuit and bar market is booming there and promises growth rates of between three and five per cent. Consequently, the Waiblingen-based company will also be exhibiting the Pack 403 from 12 to 15 June 2019 at the ProPak Asia in Bangkok. The system will then be presented in Germany in September at the FachPack in Nuremberg.

The new Pack 403 flow-wrapping machine from Bosch Packaging Technology packs biscuits, bars, crackers and chocolate.
