Barrier films with a proportion of renewable raw materials are thermoformable. Allvac will be demonstrating this at IFFA 2019. The film manufacturer from the Allg\u00e4u region has intensified its efforts to produce films from environmentally friendly materials and develop recyclable films.<\/p>\n

A favourable effect on the Sustainability<\/strong> of the products, the new Eleven-layer coextruder system<\/strong>. This allows even thinner films to be produced with the usual product quality, according to the company's Managing Director Hans Bresele<\/strong> in a press release.<\/p>\n

Currently, ecological alternatives to Barrier films made of polyamide and polyethylene<\/strong>, which are obtained from crude oil. The \u201esubstitute raw materials\u201c used are Rapeseed oil<\/strong> or Sugar cane<\/strong> in question. Allvac is also trialling polyamide-free films<\/strong>. \u201eThe new polyamide-free film is even ideally suited for thermoformed packaging, as confirmed by our own tests,\u201c says Bresele.<\/p>

Allvac documents sustainable commitment<\/h2>\n

The film manufacturer documents its efforts towards greater sustainability in a Sustainability report<\/strong>, which will be presented at the trade fair. The company also refers to its Energy management according to ISO 50001<\/strong>. This includes monthly energy monitoring. At Allvac, energy resources are saved by using energy from renewable sources to heat the rooms. Heat recovery<\/strong> and conventional light bulbs are replaced by LED light sources.<\/p>\n

According to the company, it also practices the principle of sustainability towards its employees and customers. The Film manufacturer<\/strong> has joined the Code of Conduct<\/strong> of the German Plastics Processing Industry Association (GKV). This contains competition rights, global guidelines on human and labour rights as well as ethical and social principles.<\/p>\n
