Almost 70 % of German citizens state that they have already decided not to buy a product at least once because the packaging was not sustainable enough. (Graphic: obs\/Deutsches Verpackungsinstitut e.V.)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<h2>Results in detail<\/h2>\n<p>19.3 % of German citizens regularly refrain from buying products that they feel are not packaged sustainably enough. 50.2 % have already done this at least once. 30.5 % state that the sustainability of the packaging does not play a role in their purchasing decision.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201eThe current dvi survey on the occasion of the 5th nationwide Packaging Day shows that packaging not only plays a central role in protecting products, but is also important for the <strong>Purchase decision<\/strong> of great importance to consumers. We are pleased as <strong>Network of the packaging industry<\/strong> about the great awareness and responsible behaviour of the population. Our industry has also recognised the signs of the times. It is on the right track with numerous innovative solutions. Not only in the discussion surrounding the sustainability of packaging, but also in the results. The industry is pursuing a <strong>Series of approaches<\/strong>, to design and produce sustainable packaging.
