Appropriate prices for print products and services, as well as for the distribution and logistics of paper and cardboard by paper wholesalers, were called for by the speakers at the first German \u201ePricing\u201c congress for the printing industry. It took place on 5 June 2019 in Frankfurt.<\/p>\n

200 participants from the print and paper value chain accepted the invitation of the bvdm (German Printing and Media Industries Federation) and discussed with management consultants why adequate prices are essential for the survival of the printing industry.<\/p>\n

\u201eWe recognise the challenges our customers face in achieving an adequate price level for their print products on the market. Increases in the cost of raw materials and services mean that higher prices are essential for a company's success. An increase in quantity cannot compensate for an adequate price level. In order to successfully negotiate prices, the value, quality and added value of our products and services must be emphasised even more.\u201c

Holger Busch, Managing Director of the VDMB (Verband Druck und Medien Bayern), explained why good prices are essential for the survival of the printing industry. His arguments were supplemented by Lisa J\u00e4ger, Partner at Simon-Kucher, a management consultancy. The consulting firm, which specialises in pricing, presented clear examples of how print shops can improve their sales prices at the congress. This also includes a Masterplan<\/strong> for a successful price increase with simultaneous price differentiation.<\/p>
