The modular PowerDRIVE-Box from Lenord, Bauer &amp; Co. GmbH, Oberhausen, is a platform for the automation of secondary axes.<\/p>\n<p>The <strong>Central CPU module<\/strong> of the box uses plug-in PORT modules to manage up to <strong>17 Actuators<\/strong>. The two housing variants offer four or nine slots, which can be fitted as required. The box can be expanded via COM modules, resulting in up to 17 ports.<\/p>\n<p>Each drive is connected to a module via just one hybrid cable. The <strong>Grouping actuators<\/strong> The configuration of the distributed boxes enables parts of a system to be switched off safely.<\/p>\n<p>As a subsystem, the modular PowerDRIVE-Box relieves the machine's communication network and optimises the data flow. The CPU module acts as a node for communication with the machine control system (PLC). These generate the travel commands required to control the drives and forward status data such as motor current, absolute position, device temperature and threshold values to the PLC. Analysing this device data enables, for example, preventive maintenance of the machine.<\/p>\n<p>The CPU module can also be connected via a <strong>USB interface<\/strong> or in conjunction with an optional <strong>Network interface (web browser)<\/strong> exchange data.
