Mondi will be showcasing customised, consciously sustainable packaging solutions at FachPack 2019. Under the title \u201eEcoSolutions\u201c, the listed packaging and paper company works closely with its customers and develops innovative packaging solutions for their products and the entire value chain.<\/p>\n

\u201eThe decision in favour of a particular Packaging solution<\/strong> is not easy given the complexity of the Supply chains<\/strong> and the many possible interpretations of the term \u201aSustainability<\/strong>\u2018 are not always obvious,\u201c says Peter Oswald, CEO of Mondi, in a company press release. This is why Mondi's service not only includes providing the most suitable plastic or paper-based packaging, but also integrating it into a sustainable packaging solution.<\/p>\n

Replace, reduce, recycle<\/h2>\n

At its FachPack stand, Mondi will be presenting details of customer collaborations focussing on \u201eReplace\u201c, \u201eReduce\u201c and \u201eRecycle\u201c. Retailer Rewe, for example, is now using the new \u201ePerFORMing<\/strong>\u201c for Thermoforming trays<\/strong> made from Mondi's natural brown barrier paper \u201eAdvantage Formable brown\u201c. These trays replace conventional plastic solutions at Rewe.<\/p>\n

The \"SizeMeMailer<\/strong>\u201c for e-commerce is again shown as an example of the reduction in raw materials used. The height of the shipping packaging can be quickly adapted to the respective filling volume. For Werner & Mertz<\/strong> the fully recyclable stand-up pouch \u201eStripPouch\u201c (image) was developed. It is made entirely from recyclable Monomaterial<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

Mondi has that\u201eNew Plastics Economy<\/strong> Global Commitment\u201c of the Ellen MacArthur Foundation. In doing so, the company has recognised the goal of making its packaging more recyclable, renewable and compostable by 2025.<\/p>\n
