The last stocks of single-use plastic bags will be continuously reduced within the first half of 2020.<\/p>\n<p>Galeria is implementing this decision in its Karstadt and Kaufhof department stores, at Sports and its food and catering subsidiaries.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201eWe didn't decide to stop using plastic bags for economic reasons. Plastic bags simply no longer fit in with the times as packaging, nor with our business model, which will increasingly implement sustainability criteria. By massively reducing plastic waste, we will achieve a <strong>consistent contribution to environmental protection<\/strong> to perform.<\/p>\n<p>But we will also gradually integrate sustainability much more strongly into our business model. For example, we are trialling the following at several locations <strong>Logistics solutions<\/strong>, for the delivery of our own orders to our customers, which are to become CO2-neutral in the future and which we also want to offer to other retailers.\u201c<\/p>\n<p>Dr Stephan Fanderl, CEO<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Galeria Karstadt Kaufhof is working on sustainable packaging solutions that are strongly <strong>Reusability<\/strong> set.
