{"id":27817,"date":"2019-10-24T18:33:35","date_gmt":"2019-10-24T16:33:35","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?p=27817"},"modified":"2020-08-11T13:43:30","modified_gmt":"2020-08-11T11:43:30","slug":"updated-information-on-oxo-degradable-plastics","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/en\/aktualisierte-informationen-zu-oxo-abbaubaren-kunststoffen\/","title":{"rendered":"IK offers updated information on \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The IK question and answer catalogue (FAQ) on \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics, which has been available since 2017, is now available in an updated version.<\/p>\n<p>The FAQ document summarises and answers the following key questions, among others:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>What are \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics?<\/li>\n<li>Are \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics bioplastics?<\/li>\n<li>Do \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics hinder recycling?<\/li>\n<li>Are there legal requirements for \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics?<\/li>\n<li>Can ecological goals be achieved with the use of \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Due to current developments in legal regulations, such as the requirements in the <strong>EU \u201eSingle Use Plastic\u201c Directive<\/strong> to ban articles made from so-called \u201eoxo-degradable\u201c plastics, the IK document was revised by the IK Bioplastics Working Group. In addition, it was revised with <strong>new studies<\/strong> and statements from various institutions.
