Edeka and Netto Marken-Discount are the first major food retailer and the first discounter in Germany to make this change.<\/p>\n<p>Against the backdrop of the \u201eobligation to provide receipts\u201c from 2020, this is another important step towards greater environmental friendliness. Edeka and Netto Marken-Discount have already been using phenol-free and FSC-certified paper from sustainable forestry for years for the standard thermal printing of receipts.<\/p>\n<h2>Environmentally friendly and healthy<\/h2>\n<p>The new cash register roll paper is an environmentally friendly, FSC-certified thermal paper with a characteristic blue-grey colour: Blue4est\u00ae, as the product is called, also uses heat to make the typeface appear on the cash register roll. However, this is based on a purely physical and not a chemical reaction. The new receipts also no longer fade when exposed to light or moisture. They are therefore durable and long-lasting if required, for example for documentation purposes. Due to their environmental compatibility, the receipts made from blue thermal paper can also be <strong>simply disposed of in waste paper and recycled<\/strong> become.<\/p>\n<h2>Mindless printout of receipts<\/h2>\n<p>This is even more important against the backdrop of the legal requirements that will apply from 1 January 2020. <strong>\u201eObligation to share receipts\u201c<\/strong> This is particularly important: every customer must then receive a receipt. At present, some customers also do without receipts to avoid unnecessary printouts.<\/p>\n<p>In smaller Edeka stores, receipts are currently often only printed out at the customer's request. However, the prerequisite for this is that, for example, no guarantee goods, virtual telephone cards or weighed products have been purchased and no card payment has been used. This is because the customer always receives a <strong>Receipt as receipt and warranty document. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In this way, he receives the total of the respective purchases as individual items and can track and check them. Only in this way is it legally possible to make complaints - even retrospectively - or possibly return a product.<\/p>\n<p>Conserving resources is generally a high priority at Edeka and Netto Marken-Discount. The aim is to minimise the <strong>reduce our ecological footprint<\/strong>, for example by expanding the range of more environmentally friendly products.<\/p>\n<p><em>Source: Edeka Zentrale &amp; Co.
