At Intertool & Smart Automation Austria 2020 (12 - 15 May 2020, Messe Wien - Stand: Hall A, Stand A701), Yaskawa will be demonstrating how this convenience can be practically transferred to everyday industrial use with three live training cells.

Centrepiece of the mobile „TeachMe” workstations will be two HRC-capable Motoman HC10DT hybrid robots and a classic Motoman GP8 industrial robot. Visitors to the trade fair will be able to programme the robots live in just a few minutes using the innovative Smart Pendant handheld programming device. The Smart Pendant follows the modern operating structure of a smartphone and is available for all handling robots with the YRC1000 and YRC1000micro controllers. Starting from the main menu, you can switch intuitively between the submenus, as these are listed in a specific, easy-to-follow order. The Smart Pendant thus enables quick and convenient access to all robot functions.

Mini high-speed robot

Another highlight at the stand is a show cell in which two lightweight MotoMINI high-speed robots work together to perform complex and high-precision handling tasks: This smallest model in the Motoman portfolio with a reach of 350 mm and a load capacity of 500 g combines fast cycle times with a high repeat accuracy of 0.02 mm. It can perform movements in all three directions and around all three axes in the smallest of spaces. This freedom of movement also enables more complex, three-dimensional handling processes. This makes the 6-axis robot ideal for handling small workpieces and components, as well as for assembly applications in small production machines. Thanks to its compact design, it can be used in a very space-saving manner. In 2019, the model was awarded the design prize „Red Dot Award: Product Design“ which the renowned jury only awards to outstandingly designed products.

A highlight at the Yaskawa stand: In a show cell, two MotoMINI high-speed robots work together to perform complex and high-precision handling tasks.

Robots „Made in Europe“

Last but not least, Yaskawa will be exhibiting robots from the current Motoman GP series with a payload capacity of 7 to 225 kg, which have been produced at the Slovenian plant in Kočevje since the end of 2018. The new plant complements the existing production facilities in Japan and China and covers around 80 per cent of European demand for Motoman robots.
