Mondi is converting a production line at its Gronau plant so that it now manufactures soft, elasticated straps used for face masks.<\/p>\n

As World market leader in packaging and paper<\/strong> Mondi intends to Covid-19 epidemic<\/strong> in the production of important Supply materials and components<\/strong> participate. The Personal Care Components Team<\/strong> has now found a way to convert a production line at the Gronau plant in Germany so that it Elasticated retaining straps<\/strong> which are used for face masks and are used by medical professionals and consumers worldwide.<\/p>\n

Mondi's plant in Gronau is normally involved in the production of materials used in hygiene products. However, the plant was able to quickly adapt one of its production lines to the manufacture of a three-ply, laminated retaining strap<\/strong> which holds together an elastic plastic film between layers of soft non-woven fabric. Mondi supplies the holding tapes to its customers who manufacture masks, on castors<\/strong>. The tapes are then cut to size and attached to both sides of a mask.<\/p>
