In the clothing segment, demand in e-commerce fell by 35 per cent in March, while it rose by 55 per cent in the food sector. This regularly presents retail specialists with challenges in fulfilment and packaging, whether predictable like at Christmas or unpredictable like right now. <strong>Automation is one of the most important answers<\/strong> especially as labour is also becoming increasingly scarce.<\/p>\n<p>With the CVP Everest, a fast, efficient, economical and safe <strong>Means for automating the packaging and labelling of online orders<\/strong> ready. The alternative would be adhesive tape. However, it takes longer to apply the tape and the material is more harmful to the environment than glue. (Image: Packaging by Quadient)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The approach is also intended to solve the waste problem: The <strong>Cardboard consumption is generally reduced by 20 per cent<\/strong>, and the tight fit around the item eliminates the need for void fill. The <strong>The total volume of parcels can thus be reduced by 50 per cent on average<\/strong>. This reduces the environmental impact and shipping costs.<\/p>\n<p>With a speed of more than 1,100 parcels per hour, the new solution can <strong>up to 20 manual packing stations on average<\/strong> replace. And for companies with <strong>medium shipping volume<\/strong> produces a similar solution that<strong> CVP Impack, up to 500 cartons per hour<\/strong>. Nevertheless, it offers almost all the advantages of the CVP Everest.<\/p>\n<p>Even when operating outside peak times and well below maximum capacity, the result is a <strong>Fast return on investment (ROI)<\/strong> in the form of material savings, lower shipping costs and labour savings. The employees can be used for other tasks, such as order picking.
