(Image: Mettler-Toledo)

The new Product Data Check-The new labelling options are used to verify labels on packaged products of different sizes on the same production line in numerous applications in the food and pharmaceutical industries. Companies that produce different types of ice cream or different infant formula products, for example, can now check each individual label for specific product data and reject non-compliant products.

Control in accordance with the EU Labelling Directive

The checks include optical character recognition (OCR), optical character verification (OCV) and the identification of alphanumeric text, 1D and 2D codes. The Product Data Check-Functions can check multilingual labels in particular and bold print such as allergen information. This allows food manufacturers to reliably monitor labelling in accordance with the EU Labelling Directive 2000/13/EC.

„Recalls and rework caused by incorrectly labelled or marked products are entirely avoidable. For this reason, we wanted to provide manufacturers with an easy way to upgrade their existing Mettler-Toledo systems with product data verification functions that also strengthen quality control while minimising space requirements.“ Jürgen Kress, responsible for checkweighers and optical inspection at Mettler-Toledo Product Inspection.

The new Product Data Check options for the C-Series checkweighers are available in two versions. The option Product Data Check is suitable for aligned packaged products, i.e. products with clearly recognisable front and back. Manufacturers can choose up to three cameras to verify data on the front, back and top of each product. The cameras are controlled via a single user interface and the intuitive software enables smooth switching between product profiles. The different cameras can be easily installed on checkweighers or other inspection systems using simple brackets. This saves manufacturers valuable space in the production area.

Product Data Check especially for round products

The option Product Data Check 360° was developed for round products that can rotate on the conveyor belt. It is characterised by a configuration with six cameras that generate a 360° all-round view for verifying the product label. The compact design minimises the space required on the production line. The inclined surfaces are designed with IP65 protection. Thanks to its hygienic design, the option is also suitable for use in environments with wet cleaning.

SourceMettler-Toledo

Two new versions of the Mettler-Toledo Product Data Check technology check the product labels of packaged food and pharmaceutical products.
[21
43,42,58298,56,39
0":"post-37575","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-verpackungstechnik","8":"tag-aus-den-unternehmen","9":"tag-etikettieren-kennzeichnen-codieren","10":"tag-mettler-toledo","11":"tag-qualitaetssicherung","12":"tag-verpackungstechnik","13":"cs-entry","14":"cs-video-wrap
["GET
