Nature Box is the first cosmetics brand to introduce social plastic as a packaging material for its entire bottle portfolio: All Nature Box bottle bodies are made from 98 per cent social plastic - plastic that is collected from people living in poverty before it can enter oceans and waterways. Henkel is currently working on replacing the remaining 2 percent plastic, which is contained in the colouring of the bottle, with recycled material. To this end, the company is already testing a colour carrier made from social plastic.

https://twitter.com/HenkelPresse/status/1319619221597360136

The challenge of black packaging

Black packaging has typically been a challenge for the recycling value chain, as the dyes used for black colouring often cannot be identified and sorted by recycling systems. Henkel introduced its first recyclable black plastic packaging last year, creating an innovative solution to make black plastic packaging more sustainable. With the relaunch of Syoss, the black packaging for which the hair care brand is known now uses soot-free black colour. This makes it fully recyclable. In addition, all shampoo bottles are made from 98 per cent recycled material (excluding the cap).

Increased use of recycled plastic

As part of an extensive relaunch of the well-known Schwarzkopf brand Gliss Kur, Henkel is increasing the proportion of recycled material across the entire product range. While the new shampoo and conditioner PE bottles consist of 30 per cent recycled material, the PET bottles for the shampoos and Express Repair Conditioner contain 97 per cent recycled plastic. All bottle bodies are 100 per cent recyclable and the reduced use of metal foil further simplifies the entire recycling process. In addition, the new black caps are made of soot-free material and are therefore also fully recyclable.

You can find out more about Henkel's strategy and activities in the field of packaging and plastics at http://www.henkel.de/plastik.

Source: Henkel AG

Plastic packaging from Henkel to become more sustainable

Henkel is strengthening its commitment to promoting a circular economy: as part of the relaunches of the Beauty Care brands Nature Box, Gliss Kur and Syoss, the packaging portfolio is also being made more sustainable.
[58781
57565,31,40
0":"post-39053","1":"post","2":"type-post","3":"status-publish","4":"format-standard","5":"has-post-thumbnail","7":"category-green-packaging","8":"tag-henkel","9":"tag-nachhaltigkeit-und-green-packaging","10":"tag-pharma-kosmetik-chemie","11":"cs-entry","12":"cs-video-wrap
["GET
