The cheese pack can therefore be recycled in the paper stream.

The Matrix range has now been extended with a packaging innovation award sponsored by Dow in silver. Michael Zacka, President Amcor Flexibles EMEA: „Matrix's paraffin-free technology brings soft cheese packaging into the circular economy and we are delighted with the Dow award. Matrix is another step in the right direction for Sustainability in combination with performance - It offers cheese producers improved flavour control and recyclability.“

Matrix works without paraffin

Soft cheese continues to mature even after packaging. It is therefore necessary to Control the process through moisture absorption and gas exchange. Over the years, cheese manufacturers have generally used paper packaging with a paraffin (wax) coating. While this offers some advantages, the paraffin can easily transfer to the cheese product and affect the flavour.

Matrix's breathable technology enables soft cheese producers to control the ripening process and deliver the right flavour and texture to consumers throughout the cheese's shelf life.
