Tested and approved: Herma is now using sustainable shipping labels for the worldwide dispatch of rolls of adhesive material. The material consists of 100 percent post-consumer recycled fibres.<\/p>\n

The self-adhesive specialist had previously carried out a self-experiment. They tested whether Paper labels made from 100 per cent recycled material<\/strong> meet the same logistical requirements as labels made from virgin fibres. The result was clear: they can. Herma<\/a> has therefore developed the standardised shipping labels for rolls of adhesive material<\/strong> completely reorganised. From now on, sustainable shipping labels made from 100 percent post-consumer recycled fibres will be used. Herma alone produces over one million of the so-called EPSMA roll labels every year.<\/p>\n

Sustainable shipping labels<\/h2>\n

The EPSMA roll labels on the rolls of adhesive material play an important role in ensuring smooth logistics processes. Behind this is an industry-wide standardised identification system for the automatic recording of self-adhesive roll material. The labels, which are quite large in terms of surface area, usually contain multiple barcodes<\/strong>, for example, with information on the length, width, winding direction and number of splice points on a roll, as well as customer data such as the order number. All barcodes must be able to be printed in razor-sharp quality in order to remain machine-readable at every step of the supply chain.<\/p>

When shipping goods around the world, the labels must also be able to withstand demanding conditions. climatic conditions<\/strong> adhere securely. Herma has now proven that these challenges can also be mastered with labels made from environmentally friendly recycled material, based on its own adhesive material. The new HERMAcoat Recycling label paper (grade 236) has been awarded the \u201eBlue Angel\u201c environmental seal. The natural white, slightly glossy coated paper replaces the previously used HERMAextracoat label paper (grade 242).<\/p>\n
