{"id":46645,"date":"2021-07-21T10:02:39","date_gmt":"2021-07-21T08:02:39","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?p=46645"},"modified":"2021-07-21T10:23:31","modified_gmt":"2021-07-21T08:23:31","slug":"recyclable-paper-bottle-procter-gamble","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/en\/recycelbare-papierflasche-procter-gamble\/","title":{"rendered":"Procter &amp; Gamble opts for the recyclable paper bottle"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Procter &amp; Gamble (P&amp;G) wants to develop a bio-based and fully recyclable paper bottle together with Paboco, a manufacturer of paper bottles.<\/p>\n<p>The development of the paper bottle remains a hot topic in the industry: after Unilever announced in June 2021 the <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/waschmittelflasche-aus-papier-unilever\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-schema-attribute=\"\">Prototype of the first detergent bottle made of paper<\/a> Procter &amp; Gamble has now announced the launch of a project for recyclable paper bottles. Together with the paper bottle specialist Paboco, with whom Procter &amp; Gamble has already <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/coca-cola-test-prototyp-papierflasche\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-schema-attribute=\"\">Coca-Cola works together<\/a>Unilever wants to create a <strong>Develop 100 per cent bio-based and recyclable paper bottle<\/strong> and then use them on a large scale. With its technology for paper bottles, Paboco aims to reduce the CO2 footprint compared to conventional plastic packaging.<\/p>\n<h2>More sustainability on the corporate agenda<\/h2>\n<p>At P&amp;G Fabric &amp; Home Care with brands such as <strong>Ariel, Lenor<\/strong> and <strong>Fairy<\/strong> is already working specifically to reduce the amount of plastic in its packaging. The transparent bottles available on the European market, for example, are already made from up to 100 per cent recycled plastic. Now we want to take the next step with bio-based packaging, which has a promising future. We look forward to working with our partners to develop the next generations of paper bottles.\" <strong>Jerry Porter<\/strong>Senior Vice President of R&amp;D for Global Fabric &amp; Home Care Sector<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>As part of the corporate strategy <a href=\"https:\/\/de.pg.com\/okologische-nachhaltigkeit\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-schema-attribute=\"\">Ambition 2030<\/a> P&amp;G is aiming to reduce the use of virgin plastics by 50 per cent by 2030. The European laundry care division has also committed to reducing the use of plastics by 30 per cent by 2025 and <strong>exclusively 100 per cent recyclable packaging by 2022<\/strong> to develop. According to the company, both measures are making good progress.
