McDonald's Germany is now trialling the wrapping of most of its products in thin wrapping paper in 30 restaurants. The live experiment will initially run for two months until the end of September.<\/p>\n

According to the company, this is the next step on its packaging roadmap for less plastic and packaging waste, which was published in 2019.<\/p>\n

Customers have the opportunity to give feedback on the new packaging on site. At the same time, the kitchen processes will be trialled using the new process during the test period. If the test is successful, the new packaging concept could soon be rolled out in all German restaurants. The company aims to save an average of 70 per cent packaging material per product through this measure.<\/p>
