Multivac is continuing its expansion in Asia despite the coronavirus pandemic and is building a new multifunctional building in Tsukuba, Japan, for around 20 million euros.<\/p>\n

Future growth areas include system integration and products from the Fritsch and TVI divisions, which are set to play an important role in the Japanese market in the future. Fritsch has been part of the group as a system manufacturer for bakeries and baked goods producers since 2019, while TVI - a specialist in meat portioning - has been part of the group since 2017.<\/p>\n

In addition to production areas, the new building also includes a training centre for customers and employees as well as demonstration areas for machines. It is being built in Tsukuba, around 60 kilometres north-east of Tokyo, on a total site area of 14,400 square metres. The ground-breaking ceremony took place in May 2021 and the opening is planned for summer 2022.<\/p>

The new building expands production capacity on site and optimises logistics at the same time. Previously, mould production took place in the nearby town of Toda and assembly in Abiko. However, despite continuous process optimisation, both locations had reached their capacity limits.<\/p>\n

Multivac is not only expanding in Japan. The Group now has twelve subsidiaries in the Asia\/Pacific region with a total of more than 300 employees. The company most recently founded a subsidiary in Vietnam in July 2020.<\/p>
