A new shrink film made of low-density polyethylene (LDPE), around half of which consists of recyclates, is the result of a joint development by Nestl\u00e9 Deutschland AG, Papier-Mettler KG and Der Gr\u00fcne Punkt.<\/p>\n

Some of these recyclates are obtained from plastic waste collected in the Yellow Bag or Yellow Bin. These post-consumer recyclates (PCR) are considered particularly difficult to use for new films.<\/p>\n

\u201eThanks to technical innovations, we have succeeded in creating a particularly pure Systalen LDPE recyclate<\/strong> that can be used in films. The film becomes film again, the packaging becomes packaging again. Together with our partners, we are now entering the Large-scale application<\/strong> of this new product. Practical test of shrink film made from film waste<\/h2>\n

The shrink films produced by Papier-Mettler KG using Systalen LDPE are already being used for the Transport securing of trays<\/strong> at the Maggi plant in Singen. Further applications are possible and already in preparation.<\/p>\n

\u201eWe have committed to reducing the use of new plastics by a third by 2025,\u201c says Tim J\u00fcnemann<\/strong>, Nestl\u00e9 Deutschland AG. \u201eTo close loops, we want to reuse more and more plastic recyclate obtained from packaging waste ourselves. This is a particular challenge in the area of film packaging. The joint project with Papier-Mettler and Der Gr\u00fcne Punkt is therefore a milestone for us.\u201c<\/p>\n

The Systalen LDPE recyclates are produced in Thuringia at the Systec Plastics Eisfeld GmbH<\/strong> produced. The company is a member of RAL-G\u00fctegemeinschaft Rezyklate aus haushaltsnahen Wertstoffsammlungen e.V. - the RAL quality mark \u201e% Recycling-Kunststoff\u201c certifies the PCR Traceable<\/strong>. The origin of the shrink film from film waste from the Yellow Bag or Yellow Bin is therefore certified. \u201eOur Systalen offers clear benefits for the environment and demonstrably closes the loop from film back to film,\u201c explains J\u00f6rg Deppmeyer.<\/p>\n
