Weber Maschinenbau recently inaugurated a new sheet metal production line at its Neubrandenburg site. The new, fully automated system from Trumpf enables stainless steel parts and components required for the production of slicing and packaging lines for the food industry to be manufactured more efficiently and in a networked manner.<\/p>\n

Especially the Laser cutting and bending of stainless steel parts<\/strong> was a bottleneck in the production process at Weber Maschinenbau in the past. The new laser bending automation solves this problem and the subsequent processing steps can be supplied with more parts. Thanks to the high level of automation and comprehensive networking of the individual machines, the Trumpf system will produce around the clock, seven days a week. In this way Reduction of laser downtimes<\/strong> by 30 per cent and a Reduction of the bending process time<\/strong> by 40 per cent.<\/p>\n

The system was officially put into operation by Tobias Weber, CEO of Weber Maschinenbau, company founder G\u00fcnther Weber, Dr Stefan Rudolph, State Secretary for Economic Affairs of the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, and Bernd Jaehner, Sales at Trumpf. The new sheet metal automation system cost around EUR 3.4 million. The investment was subsidised with EUR 800,000 from the state of Mecklenburg-Vorpommern.<\/p>
