Around 24,000 trade visitors, more than 780 exhibitors from 33 countries. This is the result of the first major packaging trade fair since the start of the coronavirus pandemic. According to organiser N\u00fcrnbergMesse and exhibitors, Fachpack 2021 was a complete success.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Hustle and bustle in the aisles, hustle and bustle at the exhibition stands. Whilst wandering through the exhibition halls and talking to exhibitors, you could pick up phrases such as: \u201cThe investment was definitely worth it!\u201d, \u201cWe are glad that we didn't shy away from the risk\u201d or \u201cThe optimists among the exhibitors were rewarded\u201d.<\/p>

The supporting programme was also very popular. Around 9,500 visitors attended the 101 specialist presentations in the PACKBOX, TECHBOX and INNOVATIONSBOX forums. Anyone who missed a presentation at the trade fair can still watch it on the digital tool myFACHPACK until the end of the year.<\/p>

FACHPACK offered a comprehensive range of products along the packaging process chain: from packaging materials and packaging machines to packaging printing and finishing to logistics systems and services. 41 per cent of exhibitors and around one in three visitors came from abroad, primarily from Austria, Switzerland, Italy, the Netherlands, Turkey, the Czech Republic, Poland, France and Belgium.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201cExhausted, but blissful!\u201d is how Heike Slotta, Executive Director Exhibitions, N\u00fcrnbergMesse, described her state of mind shortly before the exhibition gates closed. Many people at the exhibition felt the same way. Nobody knew in advance how things would turn out and how many visitors would actually come to Nuremberg in this extraordinary year characterised by the pandemic. The fact that there were so many in the end surprised not only the exhibitors, but also the trade fair organisers. And it shows that despite all the digital possibilities, there is no substitute for a live event. \u201cWhat visitors particularly appreciate about FACHPACK are the fruitful discussions with exhibitors that generate ideas for solutions to their packaging problems,\u201d says Phillip Blass, Director FACHPACK, N\u00fcrnbergMesse. \u201cFACHPACK is simply a real working exhibition - and that's what makes it so special.\u201d<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Trade visitors: 90 per cent have a say in purchasing decisions \u00a0<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Exhibitors particularly praised the high quality of the trade visitors. The results of a visitor survey conducted by an independent institute confirm this: around 90 per cent of trade visitors stated that they were involved in purchasing and procurement decisions at their company. Around two thirds of the trade visitors have a managerial position, with more than one in five being in management. The visitors mainly came from the food and beverage, pharmaceutical and medical, cosmetics, chemical, electronics and automotive industries.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

FACHPACK sees itself as a guide and aims to offer the industry orientation. The new guiding theme for 2022 is therefore dedicated to the strong currents currently affecting the packaging industry. Not only legislators, but also consumers are demanding sustainability - and this is profoundly changing the industry. Topics such as the circular economy, digitalisation and e-commerce are following suit. COVID 19 has put product protection in the spotlight from a hygiene perspective. It has also allowed areas such as online shopping and home deliveries to grow even more. What shopping behaviour will consumers exhibit in the future? All these topics are not only a challenge for the packaging industry, they also offer a great opportunity for change.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
