The final winner will be announced at the German Sustainability Award ceremony on 3 December 2021 in D\u00fcsseldorf.<\/p>\n<p>With the <strong>Special price packaging<\/strong> The German Sustainability Award Foundation, in cooperation with the Rewe Group, is honouring more sustainable product packaging ideas on the occasion of the 10th German Sustainability Award. \u201ePackaging must become better,\u201c explains <strong>Stefan Schulze-Hausmann<\/strong>, initiator of the German Sustainability Award. \u201eWe depend on hygienic, transport-safe and informative protection for products, but we need less of it and smarter solutions. Our finalists show how this can be done. The plant fibres can be harvested 2-3 times a year and have a high yield per unit area. As well as largely avoiding the use of pesticides, hemp cultivation also offers benefits for the soil, insects and field birds. The odourless, antibacterial and dishwasher-safe <strong>Stainless steel packaging<\/strong> in various sizes enables versatile use. Here, a flat cardboard box can be moulded into a \u201etray\u201c and sealed with a cardboard rear wall. This allows products such as toothbrushes or razors to be packaged dust-tight and hygienically. The packaging is also plastic-free and 100 per cent recyclable. Compared to conventional packaging, the packaging solution is characterised by lower energy and water consumption.<\/p>\n<p>The expert jury of the German Sustainability Award decided on the finalists and the winner.
