For Kumovis, a Munich-based start-up that manufactures 3D printers for the production of medical products, the developers at <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?s=thimm\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-schema-attribute=\"\">Thimm Packaging Systems<\/a> designed such packaging. (Image: Thimm)<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<p>The transport packaging is delivered flat and space-saving. <strong>The set consists of a custom-sized pallet, wooden fixing elements, a lid and two RhinoPlate rings with locking system<\/strong>. The printer is then wrapped in four-wall corrugated cardboard over the pallet. This is <strong>fastened with the Thimm Connect fastening system<\/strong> and thus forms the outer packaging. Thimm Connect consists of a screw and a locknut that can be operated without tools. Finally, the ramp is placed on top as a lid. When erected, the transport packaging reaches a height of just under two metres.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201eThanks to the simple Thimm Connect plug-in system, the transport packaging can be opened effortlessly and without damage on delivery and disassembled into its individual parts so that it can also be reused.\u201c <strong>Michael Weber,<\/strong> Head of Corporate Strategy + Marketing at <a href=\"https:\/\/www.thimm.de\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\" data-schema-attribute=\"\">Thimm Group<\/a><\/p><\/blockquote>\n<h2>RhinoPlate fully recyclable<\/h2>\n<p>RhinoPlate corrugated board can be 100 per cent recycled. \u201eA total of nine paper webs provide a stable and sustainable material alternative to wood,\u201c reports Weber. The BFSV-certified corrugated board is produced in CAAC quality at the Bavarian plant in Neuburg an der Donau, for example. Weber adds in conclusion: \u201eRhinoPlate corrugated board has <strong>Carrying weight over 60 per cent lower than comparable wooden crates<\/strong> and a high load capacity. The wet strength of corrugated cardboard makes it ideal for Europe-wide transport and overseas shipping, as it has first-class test results in maritime climates and can withstand extreme climatic conditions.
