Scientists from the University of Kassel, the University of Stuttgart and the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research, together with Altair Engineering GmbH, have been working on the investigations since October 2021.<\/strong><\/p><p>In addition, over 50 industrial partners are working on the project and contributing their expertise. <strong>The results obtained are to be incorporated into a database established in the plastics processing industry<\/strong>to make them easily accessible to companies. The aim is to promote the increased use of bio-based materials. The close cooperation between the research institutions and numerous companies ensures the practical relevance of the results for the companies and direct utilisation is realised.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b2961a8 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"b2961a8\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Identify influences, develop scenarios<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-5307a7c exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"5307a7c\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The investigations are aimed at the <strong>resistance to numerous factors, such as media, temperature and biodegradation<\/strong>. It is important to identify the influencing factors depending on the industry and to develop different ageing scenarios. Accordingly, components in the engine compartment are subject to different influences (greases, oils, etc.) than toys (cleaning agents, etc.) or electrical items (temperature, etc.).<\/p><p>The durability is also influenced by processing parameters and structural properties. <strong>Different products from a wide range of industries are therefore to be tested<\/strong>to optimise suitable bioplastics so that they can be used in the corresponding product sectors.<\/p><p>The research network is carrying out a total of twelve sub-projects at the three participating research institutions. Altair Engineering GmbH is also involved in the creation of the database. <strong>The close cooperation of all sub-projects enables synergy effects<\/strong> - This is the only way to achieve the goal
