Even if the feeling is part of childhood memories, waxed sweet wrappers are unfortunately not recyclable. Now Schur Flexibles is launching a wax-free and therefore recyclable packaging alternative onto the market.<\/strong><\/p>

Wax paper is a tried and tested packaging material in the confectionery industry. However, in some countries they are not considered recyclable. After extensive development work Schur Flexibles<\/a> now a recyclable solution without wax<\/strong> on the market. How did the company achieve the properties of wax paper without wax?<\/p>

The PaperTwister is not coated with wax as usual. Instead, a special impregnation increases the stability and flexibility of the paper.<\/strong> The inside is coated with a release varnish that prevents the sweets from sticking to the paper without negatively affecting the paper recycling process. The PaperTwister also impresses with excellent machine runability and a packaging speed of up to 1,800 pieces per minute<\/strong>. With this performance, it is in no way inferior to normal wax paper.<\/p>

Recyclable despite impregnation<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

PaperTwister is according to the company<\/a> the first twist packaging that can be fully recycled. Thanks to the specially developed water-soluble impregnation, the paper can be easily recycled in waste paper.<\/strong> The recycled fibres can also be reprocessed into recycled paper with the impregnation. The recyclability is currently being tested by an external institute. Internal pulping tests have already been completed with very positive results.<\/p>

With the development of the PaperTwister, Schur Flexibles is also demonstrating another solution for the circular economy in the confectionery packaging sector. PaperTwister also fulfils the Customer requirements for packaging materials made from renewable raw materials and recyclability in the paper stream<\/strong>.<\/p>
