The German Packaging Institute (dvi) sees more light than shadow in the recently presented coalition agreement between the SPD, Alliance 90\/The Greens and the FDP for the upcoming 20th legislative period. The focus on the circular economy and the promotion of the use of recycled materials are seen as particularly positive. According to the packaging industry network, the coalition partners have not taken the best route with the announced regulation for the implementation of the so-called plastic tax. Overall, the central role of packaging as a pioneer in the implementation of the circular economy is once again evident.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Kim Cheng, Managing Director of the dvi, believes that the coalition agreement ultimately more light than shade with regard to packaging<\/strong>. Above all, it is positive \u201ethat the coalition partners want to seriously tackle the issue of the circular economy. The fundamental plan to fully utilise the economic and ecological potential of recycling<\/strong>, The new strategy is in line with current needs and also recognises their opportunities when it comes to economic growth and job creation.\u201c<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

According to the dvi, the coalition agreement makes it very clear that the Packaging plays a central role in the development of the circular economy<\/strong>. \u201eThe Packaging industry is highly innovative<\/strong> and is a pioneer in enabling and establishing the circular economy as well as in environmental and climate protection. Other products will also benefit from this in the future,\u201c says Kim Cheng.<\/p>
