Heidelberger Druckmaschinen AG is stepping up its sustainability management activities. Against the backdrop of the global challenges of climate change, Heidelberg has committed to climate neutrality by 2030 as part of its sustainability strategy. Sustainability has been an integral part of Heidelberg's corporate strategy since the early 1990s.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>

The company has operated a validated environmental management system since 1996<\/strong> and has been ISO 14001 certified since 2001. Another milestone is the Efficiency optimisation of the particularly energy-intensive foundry at the Amstetten site<\/strong>. Since 2012, Heidelberg has demonstrably succeeded in improving energy efficiency at this site by more than 20 per cent. To achieve this, the heating, ventilation systems and lighting, for example, have been optimised or replaced, motors have been replaced and the melting process has been optimised.<\/p>

Some halls have been modernised to KfW standard and the conversion of the lighting to LED technology has sustainably improved energy efficiency.
