With the declaration signed today, the alliance partners have underlined their commitment to North Rhine-Westphalia (NRW) as an aluminium location. The material is an important building block for industrial value creation in NRW, Germany and Europe. Aluminium is a key material for achieving the ambitious climate targets. <\/strong><\/p>

The aluminium industry is an important economic factor for NRW. The aluminium industry employs 35,000 people in NRW alone and over 62,000 people throughout Germany.<\/p>

The joint declaration of the alliance partners Speira, Trimet Aluminium, Aluminium Germany<\/a>, IG Metall, IG BCE and the NRW Ministry of Economic Affairs is now the starting signal for intensive cooperation between the state government, employee representatives and industry. The close dialogue between the partners serves the goal, successfully drive forward the transformation to a sustainable industry<\/strong>, to expand the circular economy and the associated supply of raw materials and to strengthen the closed aluminium value chain at the site.<\/p>

The rapid expansion of renewable energies at competitive costs, access to research funding, but also free and fair competition on the markets are at the centre of the joint deliberations. In addition, the current \u201emagnesium crisis\u201c has shown that A consistent raw materials policy is essential to secure industrial value creation in Germany and Europe<\/strong> is.<\/p>
