It does completely without glue, varnish and printing, its structure is based on closure flaps and it can be folded flat for recycling.

Two wines, including a pack of delicate crackers, can be transported in the cardboard packaging, which was created at Metsä Board's Excellence Centre and developed in collaboration with the Prinz von Hessen winery. In its Excellence Centre the Finnish cartonboard manufacturer has been accelerating material and packaging innovations since 2020 and creating a Cooperation platform for customers and technology partners all over the world.

Wine packaging for safe transport

A cardboard insert separates the two glass bottles and stabilises them individually so that they are secured during transport. In addition, the design team from Metsä Board The team developed a holder that can be positioned in front of the slim necks of the wine bottles to protect the crackers. The team manufactured all the components made from the lightweight and stable virgin fibre board quality MetsäBoard Natural WKL Bright and completely dispensed with adhesives. The result is a white box whose structure is based on closure flaps and can be folded flat for recycling.

The team also deliberately dispensed with paints and prints.
