Danish households' efforts to sort plastic waste are now having a positive impact. A visionary collaboration between four Danish companies has led to the launch of a new plastic packaging made from 100 per cent Danish household-sorted plastic waste. A true circular loop where discarded plastic becomes new plastic bottles.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The unique collaboration between leading players in the entire value chain for recycled plastic is bearing fruit. Nopa Nordic<\/a>, Schela Plast, Aage Vestergaard Larsen and Dansk Affald have joined forces to reduce the amount of plastic waste. In this way, the Recycling rate of plastic waste from Danish households increased significantly in one fell swoop<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

This collaboration to achieve concrete ecological progress was launched more than a year ago when Nopa Nordic packaging from recycled material<\/a> on the basis of Danish household-sorted plastics called for<\/strong>. The consumer's desire for new packaging has triggered a great deal of development work between the partners, which has now led to the new packaging that will meet a great need at a time when everyone is focussing on sustainable solutions.<\/p>

The management teams emphasise that a Open and innovative collaboration<\/strong> between companies, each with their own expertise, is the way to develop more environmentally friendly Danish products.<\/p>

Schela Plast<\/a>, which produced the packaging, was an important partner in the project due to its extensive expertise in blow moulding household-grade plastics from abroad. They expect that the Production of recycled plastic from Denmark can become an even larger segment<\/strong>.<\/p>

Aage Vestergaard Larsen also expects the market for Danish household sorted plastic to grow considerably in the coming years. The manufacturer of granulate made from recycled plastic has invested heavily in the initiative. The project has already shown that the Very high demand<\/strong> is why Aage Vestergaard Larsen wants to increase production capacity.<\/p>

The task of Damifos<\/a> consists of collecting and sorting plastic from private households at the local authorities. The aim is to prove that valuable products made from plastic waste through the use of sorting technology at the Damifos plant in Denmark<\/strong> can be realised. An intention that was fully realised in the project.<\/p>
