Domestic appliance manufacturer Miele is planning to increase the use of recycled material in its packaging. By 2025, the company wants to increase the use of recycled plastic to up to 7,500 tonnes per year.<\/strong><\/p>

Reducing environmental pollution and climate change is a high priority for the long-established G\u00fctersloh-based company - as is the sustainability of its products. At the same time, the company places high demands on its packaging. Cleaning products, for example, must be able to withstand the stresses and strains of transport as well as fluctuating climatic conditions. \u201eDeveloping packaging that not only fulfils these requirements but also protects the environment is a major challenge<\/strong>, but one that we are tackling with vigour,\u201c says Christoph Wendker, Vice President Corporate Sustainability and Regulatory Affairs at the company.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

In concrete terms, this means Wherever it is possible without any relevant loss of quality, G\u00fctersloh is working on it, consistently implement the concept of the circular economy and recycle materials<\/strong>. The aim is to increase the amount of recycled plastic used to up to 7,500 tonnes by 2025. \u201eMiele is still at the beginning of a long journey here, which is not just about recycled and recyclable material for packaging, but also for appliances,\u201c Wendker continues.<\/p>

The company also follows this line for the packaging of cleaning and care products<\/strong>. For example, the PowerDisk container for the dishwasher has been converted to 100 per cent recycled plastic. Most of the packaging for the other dishwasher and detergent containers has also been redesigned and is now made from recycled material.<\/p>
