At the end of 2021, the Interseroh+ competence centre for plastics recycling was able to accredit five new test methods. A total of 14 analysis methods are now approved for the company. New methods include the determination of the burning rate of plastics and the determination of polymer types.<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

As the only recognised research institution in the EU specialising in the development and analysis of recycled plastics, the competence centre has been internationally accredited in accordance with the EN\/ISO 17025 laboratory standard since March 2020.<\/p>

The newly introduced flammability analysis promises important findings for the industry<\/strong>. Plastic components in electrical appliances such as televisions or washing machines often come into contact with electricity - there is a risk that they could catch fire. Material stability against burning is also an important criterion for the use of certain plastics in the construction sector.<\/p>

In addition to the flammability test, the competence centre for the Analysing further physical and chemical properties of plastics<\/strong> approved. This includes the overall thermal analysis of the materials (consisting of differential scanning calorimetry and thermogravimetric analysis), which enables the determination of the polymer types in addition to the evaluation of the content of various polymers and inorganic fillers. It is also possible to determine the internal water content for smooth material processing. Interseroh+ supports its customers in the procurement and use of suitable plastic recyclates.\u00a0<\/p>
