Weighing and packaging specialist Ishida is presenting its packaging solutions for meat, poultry and alternative proteins at this year's Iffa with several new developments. <\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The new solutions include the QX-900-Flex traysealer for medium and high-volume production lines<\/strong>. According to the company, the new machine achieves an output of up to 15 cycles per minute for tray sealing, which corresponds to an output of 105 packs. It processes packaging in a wide range of formats with and without inert gas as well as a variety of materials such as recycled or recyclable cardboard, mono plastic and the latest variants of Skinpack and Skin on Board.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Small quantities and fixed target weights<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Fully automatic filling of two or three differently sized and shaped pieces of fresh produce into trays with fixed target weights? The Ishida RobotGrader realises this packaging task. To do this, the machine combines Weighing technology with a pick-and-place system<\/strong>. Product pieces brought in are weighed individually and scanned according to their shape, position and orientation. Sorting software then selects the products for combination.<\/p>

The RobotGrader packs up to 150 trays per minute - ten times more than with manual processing. At the same time, product loss is reduced to less than one per cent, according to Ishida. Depending on the version, up to four tray types and up to three target weights can be processed simultaneously.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The IX-G2-F X-ray inspection system was developed for demanding foreign body inspection tasks. With the use of dual-energy technology and newly developed line sensors, a Very high detection performance<\/strong> achieved. Even low-density foreign bodies that are difficult to recognise, such as bones in poultry meat, can be reliably detected. IX-G2-F is predestined for thick, high-density poultry products such as chicken fillets or chicken breasts, which overlap in the packaging or have uneven surfaces.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Multihead weighers for different requirements<\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The CCW-R2-106 multihead weigher processes highly adhesive and sensitive meat and poultry products with a capacity of up to 30 weighings per minute. The linear weigher with six heads is also a very economical solution for weighing meat and poultry products. Automation of smaller production batches<\/strong>. Significant increases in efficiency are achieved compared to manual processing. Special scrapers on the plastic trays and the ribbed inner walls prevent product adhesion. The result scores points with its accuracy and a product loss of less than one per cent of the packaging weight.<\/p>

The CCW-RV-214 high-performance multihead weigher with spiral conveyors enables the Fully automatic processing of highly adhesive fresh products<\/strong>. Instead of radial chutes, the weigher uses screws rotating around its own axis for powerful, controlled and fully automatic feeding of the trays. Speeds of up to 55 weighings per minute can be achieved with minimal product loss.<\/p>
