L'Occitane and VPI are launching a refill packaging for cosmetics made from recycled polypropylene. The Shea Ultra Rich Body Cream jar can be refilled and reused with an insert made from post-consumer recycled material.\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Ecological responsibility plays an important role for L'Occitane<\/a> and is reflected in the ingredients and the packaging and accessories used. In addition to introducing a refill pack, the company has chosen to use a 100 per cent PCR (Post-Consumer Recycled) PP material<\/strong>. Thereby, natural resources are conserved, the recycling sector is supported and thanks to the lightness of the material, the ecological footprint of the entire supply chain is reduced<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201eThe Shea Ultra Rich Body Cream refill enables us to substantially reduce our dependency on plastic. Compared to the old product, it accounts for an annual saving of more than 40 tons. It also helps us to fulfil our ambition of using post-consumer recycled plastic. VPI's teams rose perfectly to this challenge.\u201c<\/p>

VPI was also tasked with managing and ensuring the traceability of batches of recycled material<\/strong> when developing the packaging. A 200 ml container was to be produced within a short lead time. The design of the handle was studied and a closure was developed that can be opened and closed again for user-friendly and comfortable handling<\/strong>. The cup is heat sealed after filling. When purchased for the first time, the cup fits into an aluminium packaging and is then ready for refilling on its own.<\/p>
