Under the motto #recyclingheroes, the Global Recycling Foundation is calling for recycling heroes to be nominated this year. The Industrievereinigung Kunststoffverpackungen is responding to this call and is presenting some of the recycling heroes from its own association to mark World Recycling Day on 18 March.<\/strong><\/p>

Packaging protects food - all the better if it conserves resources. For the production of Multipeel PurePP film packaging from South pack<\/a> becomes up to 40 per cent less plastic compared to previous packaging.<\/strong> It is an example of lightweight packaging that can be resealed and recycled. New types of packaging are also created at Krones<\/a>, for milk, among other things. The innovative, recyclable plastic packaging provides the light-sensitive food with the necessary light protection<\/strong>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

How can you help a country that has no waste collection system? For example, with big bags made from used PET bottles from Indonesia. These large bags with handles are used to transport large quantities of animal feed, seeds such as potatoes or plastic granulate. With this idea, the Krefeld-based company Boxon is helping to conserve resources and reduce plastic waste in Indonesia.<\/strong> The collected PET bottles are delivered to a central recycling plant where all further processing steps take place.<\/p>

Anyone who has ever carried a bulky six-pack of mineral water or soft drinks will appreciate the practical strap on the outer packaging.<\/strong> Previously, this consisted of polyethylene (PE) shrink film with glued-on carrier tape made of different materials. For this reason and due to the adhesives used, it was not recyclable. A new type of carrier tape, developed by Verpa Folie, solves this recycling problem<\/strong>It is also made of PE and ensures a single-variety, recyclable packaging solution.<\/p>

All the products presented are winners of the PackTheFuture Award, which honours ideas relating to plastic packaging. The award is a joint project of the plastics industry association and its French counterpart, Les entreprises de l'emballage plastique et souple (ELIPSO).<\/strong><\/p>
