Netstal is presenting a sustainable packaging application at the FIP in Lyon. For thin-wall packaging, the company uses an alternative material made from a biopolymer that is obtained 100 per cent from plants. The material can be used on fully electric high-performance machines.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The Ecocup drinking cup with a volume of 0.33 litres consists of 100 per cent from plant-based polymer<\/strong>. On the Netstal<\/a>Stand N11\/M14 at the FIP in Lyon, the ecological cup will be produced on an all-electric Elion 1200-510 in a two-cavity mould from French partner SN Caulonque. The high-performance application runs with a cycle time of less than 4 seconds.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The company's performance advantages are also utilised in alternative materials. Kaneka Biodegradable Polymer Green Planet is a 100 per cent bio-based polymer (PHBH) that is characterised by a Biofermentation process using renewable vegetable oils<\/strong> is produced as the starting material. The polymer accumulated in the bacteria is extracted and purified in a water-based process. The Kaneka Green Planet qualities are certified as \u201eOK home\u201c and \u201eOK industrial\u201c compostable.<\/p>

The material is biodegradable under natural conditions, such as in soil and marine waters, and is not affected by the Digestion process of naturally occurring microorganisms degraded to biomass, carbon dioxide and water<\/strong>. Selected Kaneka Green Planet grades are therefore also certified as \u201eOK biodegradable soil and marine\u201c. The polymer PHBH has been listed in the European Commission Regulation No. 10\/2011 for all food contacts since 2019.<\/p>
