Huhtamaki is now increasing the production of smooth moulded fibre packaging in Europe and especially in Germany. Plastic is to be replaced by fibre at the Alf site.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-597f193 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"597f193\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The company's site in Alf, Germany, is shifting its focus from plastics to smooth moulded fibre (SMF) products to meet the growing demand for plastic-free alternatives for food packaging. By the year <strong>More than 2,000 tonnes of plastic to be replaced by fibres in 2022<\/strong>. The modern automated production facility will have the capacity to produce up to 3.5 billion fibre products per year.
