In order to focus more on growth in the areas of renewable packaging, building solutions and biomaterials, Stora Enso is selling four paper production sites. The sites affected include Anjala in Finland, Hylte and Nym\u00f6lla in Sweden and Maxau in Germany.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

The systems are high-quality Sites for paper and pulp production<\/strong> with a good infrastructure and qualified and experienced employees. The company currently has five paper production sites,<\/strong> which are supported by sales, management and administrative functions. In total, the Paper Division employs around 2,200 people. In 2021, net sales totalled 1,703 million euros.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

\u201eBy divesting the majority of our paper sites, we can focus more on our strategic growth areas of renewable packaging, building solutions and biomaterials. When evaluating potential divestments, we are looking for new owners who can offer the sites and their employees a future for the sites and the people who work there.\u201c<\/p>

The four sites are the subject of one or more transactions. The company has not set a date for the completion of the sale process. The initiated sales process does not have any direct impact on Stora Enso<\/a>\u2019s paper activities, which will continue to serve their respective customers. The Langerbrugge site in Belgium will remain within the Group.<\/p>
