Titon builds on the core values of dry toner technology from Xeikon<\/a> due to the absence of any liquid (mobile) components. as the most food-safe technology in digital printing<\/strong> even if only paper is used as the main functional barrier. As the toner is also completely odourless and tasteless, it does not affect the customer experience when consuming the product. These key properties make the new toner suitable for a wide range of applications with indirect and direct food contact.<\/p>

Titon technology enables brand owners to make the transition to recyclable paper-based packaging more easily. It gives printers the opportunity to expand their portfolio of applications, that were previously beyond the capabilities of digital printing<\/strong>, and to supplement the range of its conventional flexographic printing presses.<\/p>

The possibility of working without lacquer or laminate print inline or offline directly onto paper substrates<\/strong>, has a significant impact on the overall equipment effectiveness (OEE) of the digital print shop.<\/p>

Lacquering and lamination are additional set-up effort and increase the volume of waste<\/strong>. In addition, the water-based coatings used to ensure food safety require considerable maintenance, which also eats into productive operating time. Laminations can also impair the recyclability of the packaging.<\/p>

According to Xeikon, the Titon toner is the only digital solution for this market that does not require the time and expense of downstream surface treatments. As a result, the toner accelerates time to market while increasing profitability and productivity. The Xeikon CX500t, the new member of the Cheetah Series, will be the first digital printing press<\/strong> which is equipped with Titon technology.\u00a0<\/p>
