The procurement of agricultural raw materials is difficult and manufacturers are trying to switch to other ingredients. They are then faced with the problem of the legal obligation to declare ingredients on packaging. The packaging industry is also affected by the delayed availability of materials.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2348ddd exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2348ddd\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The biggest challenge for confectionery manufacturers is a <strong>Impending gas shortage<\/strong>. In addition, there are further challenges: the market for important raw materials is empty and long-standing supply chains are no longer functioning. In particular, manufacturers are faced with significant price increases and increasingly <strong>Supply difficulties in purchasing important agricultural raw materials<\/strong> such as wheat, sunflower oil, sunflower lecithin and nuts. The cost of milk powder, sugar, eggs and palm oil has also risen significantly recently.\u00a0<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-48f3f60 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"48f3f60\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote><p>\u201eTogether with politicians and the food trade, we must ensure that entire shelves in supermarkets do not remain empty. This risk also exists for many popular <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?s=s\u00fc\u00dfwaren\">Confectionery<\/a>. Politicians must now examine all measures that will help food manufacturers to continue producing.\u201c<\/p><p><strong>Bastian Fassin<\/strong>, Chairman of the Federal Association of the German Confectionery Industry (BDSI)<\/p><\/blockquote>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-3b38f37 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"3b38f37\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Exemptions from the obligation to declare <\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-021e481 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"021e481\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Manufacturers therefore need temporary exemptions from the legal obligation to declare their products as long as individual ingredients are no longer available on the market, as alternative ingredients must be used. The exemption due to the <strong>Recipe change required Packaging reprint<\/strong> however, is currently failing due to a lack of <strong>Delayed availability of packaging material<\/strong>. This means that even after printing and before the food is handed over to the end consumer, labelling changes could still be made.<strong> Changes to the label<\/strong> can be made.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a69040d exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a69040d\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<blockquote><p>\u201eThis is the right step, but it has to work in practice. During the coronavirus crisis, we saw a huge mess of different regulations in the EU. This must not be repeated here.
