From 1 July 2022, they will also be required to register their packaging. The registration process will start on 5 May 2022, giving retailers time to prepare for the necessary changes.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2234f39 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2234f39\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"page\" title=\"Page 1\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p>Online retailers primarily place shipping and sales packaging on the market with their goods. This typically accumulates as waste with private end consumers. Whoever sells such packaging has <strong>Obligations under packaging law<\/strong> to fulfil: Specifically, retailers must register in the LUCID packaging register and pay for the disposal and recycling of their packaging.\u00a0<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-a438558 exad-sticky-section-no exad-glass-effect-no elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"a438558\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The fact that online retailers have to fulfil these obligations is nothing new. If retailers fail to comply with the law, they could face fines. There is a need for action for online retailers: In addition to shipping, sales and\/or secondary packaging, do you also sell <strong>Packaging without system participation obligation<\/strong>they must extend their existing registration in the LUCID Packaging Register to include information on the additional packaging (change registration).<\/p><p>The new registration process will start on 5 May 2022, giving the affected online retailers enough time to comply with the law. If the sellers on the platforms violate the legal provisions, the marketplaces may no longer allow them to sell the goods.<\/p><p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/packaging-journal.de\/?s=stiftung+zentrale+stelle+Verpackungsregister\">Central Agency Packaging Register (ZSVR)<\/a> provides marketplaces with an interface for automated register retrieval.
